CHANTING
Why do we chant at the beginning or end of a class? Chanting is a non-sectarian spiritual practice, just like yoga. The yoga of sound is integral to this experience and has no religious affiliation. Open your heart and voice to this wonderful practice, or just enjoy the voices of others, either way is a beautiful place to be.
At the end of each class, we say these words in Sanskrit: OM BOLO SHRI SAT GURU BHAGAVAN KI… JAI!
Translation: To the teacher within, the only teacher of truth
Namaste: The Divine light within me honors and recognizes the divine light with you Om: Sacred sound/vibration of the Universe that unites us all
Some samples of chants in Sanskrit you will hear at Padme, at the begining of each classes: Thank you to our beloved teacher, Rusty Wells at Urban Flow San Francisco, for spreading the love of chanting and teaching us to chant from our hearts.
