Summer’s yoga journey began close to ten years ago at the local gym. She was immediately attracted to the emphasis on a personal, non-competitive, physical practice with a focus on the breath and turning inward. After a few years, she felt confident enough to take a weekend training course and begin teaching yoga and pilates at various gyms. Yearning for a deeper understanding and community of yoga she left the gym environment, took a step back from teaching, and began to involve herself with the local Sacramento yoga studio community. Through her involvement in these studios over the last couple of years she has participated in workshops, lectures, and teacher training programs. She has witnessed yoga transform people through not only the challenging physical aspect but through the safe community of love that yoga supports, which allows for honest self-exploration. Her classes are about balancing the opposites of life to find that subtle space between where awareness lies and the realization that everything is connected and just as it should be.
